Bio – Berg’s Print Studio

FULL SERVICE FINE ART PRINTING STUDIO

My 45 year background as a corporate pilot has afforded me the time to pursue other business interests. In 1977 my brother Tom and I started Berg Brothers. Logging, cutting saw timber and veneer logs throughout eastern Pa. In 1987 I sold the business to Tom and started a new enterprise, Berg’s Craftsmanship In Wood. Handcrafting custom furniture and built in cabinetry throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. I closed the cabinetry business in 2009 and started my present business Berg’s Canvas Gallery. In mid 2020 we changed the name to Berg’s Print Studio to better reflect the services we offer.

Our specialties include but are not limited to:

  • Pigment museum quality wide format printing on canvas and fine art papers.

  • Dye sublimation printing for Chromaluxe Metal Prints, ColorLyte Glass Prints and many assorted apparel products including masks.

  • Photo mounting and framing including Canvas Gallery Wraps.

  • Laminating

  • Digital Artists Reproductions

  • and so much more!

Our Digital Darkroom

Computers cameras and software are all required to process and print large file images.

Our computers, both Macs are a 2020 iMac 5k with 72GB of Ram and an external Drobo drive system with 8Tb’s of capacity. We use a 2020 Macbook Pro laptop for a backup, 64Gb of ram with a 1 Tb ssd drive. Both of these computer systems are extremely fast and were specifically designed for photography processing.

For software we use Adobe’s CC Lightroom Classic and Photoshop CC. For image resizing we use Topaz gigapixel and the On1 Suite with Perfect Resize.

Our present camera system for digital art reproduction is Sony using the full frame 61mp A7rIV.

Our two wide format fine art printers are the Epson pigment 44” P8000 and the 64” Epson solvent s80600.

For dye sublimation we print with a 44” Epson P8000 and the new Epson F570.

We have 3 small 17” Epson printers, SC-3880, P800 and the new P5370.

For small hi-gloss cibachrome look prints to 13″ wide we have just added the new Et-8550.

Our scanning is accomplished with an Epson 750.

Our heat presses for dye sublimation are all George Knight made in the USA.

A Dk25Ap and our new 32×42 Knight MaxiPress. A Knight mug press rounds out the sublimation presses.

We laminate with 2 Seal laminators a 44” Ultra and 62” Base.

Our framing and production shop has a list of equipment too long to name.

We teach workshops in printing, mounting, sublimating and framing.
